It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and fellow Toastmaster Jim Prestwood, DTM. Jim passed away on May 22nd, 2023 after a long battle with Cancer.
A Service will be held for Jim on Saturday, June 10th, at 11 am at Sequoia Church, 1050 South Union Road, Manteca, CA.
Jim was in Toastmasters for 21 years. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories, Livermore CA. He is survived by his wife Julie Prestwood, 3 step-children and 5 grand children. His favorite Sports team was the Dodgers.
His home club was Manteca Leadership Club. He served as President, VP Education, VP Membership at the club level. He loved to write and give speeches and enjoyed all the roles in Toastmasters Club Meetings.
He served our District as Division I Director and Area Director. He earned his Distinguished Toastmaster Award on Jul 20, 2019. His latest endeavors in Pathways were Level 5 in Effective Coaching and Level 4 in Motivational Strategies. We will miss Jim very much.
